Advice on 250 6 cylinder build
As part of my 77 C-10 project, I will be rebuilding the original 250 engine. In addition to the normal overall, I want to up the performance factor. I am thinking head work to increase compression to 9 to 1, three angle valve job, aftermarket cam, carb upgrade and headers. Has anyone done something similar? I realize dropping in a small block would be easier, but I want to do something a little different. Any thoughts or advise/suggestions? Would the results justify the effort and expense?

It really doesn't take much to get a lot of power out of these
I have a 250 In my 70 Biggest cam with some roller lifters, Made a adapter for the two barrel carb and I'm kickin aprox 250-300hp They are great engines and are often underestimated with power and design I you can run more than one carb or a four barrel for better fuel/air mixture you will be set Oh and I almost forgot!! 1. You will spend a lot more money for less HP on the six. BUt it's cool.
2. Search for 250 build in this and the Engines sections. 3. Google and join Inliners. 4. Buy Leo Santucci's book, 2nd edition. A must have. 307 pistons or Ross forged pistons from Tom Lowe, cast headers from Langdon, Clifford or Offy intake, cam that matches your RPM range. Next step - turbo.
