Maybe if you measure the width of the original doors, then measure the repops you will find that the repops are too wide in that area. I have heard guys mention that on here. LockDoc

Re: Outer window sweeps/seals too thin
I have factory original doors. I bought all new door and window rubber and I too have a gap between the glass and outside scrapper. I can't remember where I got them. I think they came from Classic....bet Brothers has a better product.

Re: Outer window sweeps/seals too thin
I'm in SoCal....the land of never rain. I usually park my truck in motor pool at work if it rains. Too many cars at house. 2 in garage....2 in driveway....truck leaks the street. LOL

Re: Outer window sweeps/seals too thin
These doors tend to spread out, thats why they ended up putting the screw in them below the rear of the wind wings in 72. Its not really right to blame the suppliers on this one.

Re: Outer window sweeps/seals too thin
The doors get water in them. Look at the bottom, there's a drain area on both sides of the door, on both factory doors and aftermarket. Even brand new vehicles have them still. Just coat the inside (especially the bottom) with a rust paint and you should be fine.
As for the 1/4" gap, that's way too much. Something is off. Post pics.

Re: Outer window sweeps/seals too thin
REVISIT SUBJECT....Anyone come up with a solution on this? I'm guessing that over the past 45 years the door has just separated and now the window sweeps don't touch the glass.

I don't know about the doors but these are the best window felts/sweeps I have found. Made in the USA by Clark Industries, Pearcy, AR and go by the "Repops" brand. http://www.classicindustries.com/tru...ts/cr1103.html http://www.classicindustries.com/tru...ts/cr1073.html The only difference in the two sets is one is stainless and one is chrome plated stainless... There may be other vendors on here that sell the same brand (I hope they post up if they do) but I think the manufacturer is pretty selective who they let distribute the product. I borrowed the pictures and links from another thread. LockDoc

Re: Outer window sweeps/seals too thin
I'd have thought that someone would have produced an extra thick felt side to take up the gap in these trucks by now?

When the time comes, all rubber and seals are going to be bought from gmcpauls, have friends who have never had an issue....

Re: Outer window sweeps/seals too thin
Its our understanding that Re-Pops makes the 4pc beltlines ( anti-rattle sets ) for precision. So if you buy re-pops its the same as buying Precision.
