Re: what transmission do I have?

As far as the swap, depending on which tailshaft you currently have, you may need a new drive shaft. With the 700 you will need a detent cable and either a vacuum switch for the torque converter lockup or switch, depending on which style you use. You will also need a new gear indicator for your gauge cluster. You will also need new transmission mounts and possibly have to move/modify your crossmember.

Re: what transmission do I have?

If your turbo 350 is a 9 inch tail shaft the driveshaft and yoke will work without mods.

You can reuse the th350 mount on the 700r4 but you will need metric bolts to mount it to the trans.

You'll need to move the crossmember.

Shift linkage and cooler lines will work.

Figure out which method you want to use for torque converter lockup control and tv cable mounting. You can use GM stuff from a 700r4 truck or aftermarket, your choice.

Remove the vacuum line for the th350 and plug the bib on the manifold.

Re: what transmission do I have?

you're in luck, it's a real easy swap from a th350 to a 700r. just follow tx firefighter's advise and you're on the way. i did the same thing to my '80 c10.
