Adding an aftermarket tach.

Being that my truck didn't come with a tach, does it still have all the hardware? Is it just a case of wiring the gauge up or is it something more involved?

Forgive me if this has been asked to death, I tried searching and didn't find anything.

Re: Adding an aftermarket tach.

I wish I had made an install write up on this all you do is wire it up, what you need to do is just depending on what kind of fuse block you have whether it's the old school with the bulbs or more like the modern with small fuses, find out which fuses turn off when the truck is off and which one is on while the truck is on. and you'll have 1 wire that's green you'll need to run that to your distributor and then make sure for your ground you just find something that's out of the way of your feet, and then there you go!

I hope it all makes sense, if not I'll try to answer it better.

Re: Adding an aftermarket tach.

I get it. Thanks!

I was really hoping it was going to be easy but I didn't want to buy the tach and then find that I was wrong. So many parts to buy, can't afford to waste time, money, and work on pointless endeavors.

Re: Adding an aftermarket tach.

Yeah you can buy the tach and you'll just have to take a little bit of time out of your day to get it all put in, it took me about 30minutes to 1 hour to get all mine done.
