I shaved the gas filler off of the Panel.

Well after much consideration I decided to shave the gas filler off of my panel. I wasn't shure if I wanted to install a door or try something behind the taillight, but I decided to use a door. I did it for a couple of reasons of whitch I will explain why in my Panel Project page. This door was removed from a 1986 Dodge mini van. I liked it because it is round, and it was the smallest diameter one I could find that was remotely operated. (I didn't want finger holes.) I am not done yet, I have quite a bit of sanding left. I will have updates in my website once I finnish. What do you think?? WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Thanks guys, I hope you all are not getting board with my posting progress. FRENCHBLUE72, I'll look forward to seeing that. I had considered that myself and then opted for this. Jose, That will be great. By the way all of the parts you ordered are here like I promised. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

that is cool. its definitely much cleaner to have it remote operated than to have the finger hole

That looks *****in WES. I'm going to do that to my Son's '67 fleet. I'm going with a Hagan teardrop door. I like the remote access. Does anyone know if hagan offers a teardrop door that can be operated remotely? I know that R&B's in Washington carries the Hagan line. Lokar makes a really nice remote handle and cable.

Thanks everyone. I am realy starting to get excited about how the finished project will look. It is getting to be more custom than I origanally planned, but I figure what the heck. I have found a lot of damage in this truck that was covered up by the previouse owner, so I figure why not? WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Thanks again. My plans for paint are Caddilac white Diamond for a base. Then ghost pearl blue flames with ruby pearl highlights that run about to the middle of the front doors. Then my Classic Heartbeat logo where the windows would be if it was a Suburban. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
