a/c control cable?

Hi. Got a problem with the cables. The cable that goes from the hot and cold selection to the outside flapper under the hood, does not go all the way to the hot position. It comes back on it's own to the middle. I need to push it hard to leave it on hot, but the outside flapper will be forced and will break. I lubed the cable, and moves very smooth, but no difference. What else could it be?

Re: a/c control cable?

i had to take my evaporator box apart and move it out of the way to get in there and clean out a ton of leaves and pine needles away from the flapper. i tried taking the blower motor out but couldnt get in there good enough, you might can.

Re: a/c control cable?

I already took the whole box apart and cleaned it pretty well. Unless something small was left by the flapper and it's not opening all the way. But at the same time, the flapper feels like it's closing and opening all the way. I can hear it sound. Who knows what else could be wrong.

Re: a/c control cable?

I redid everything there too. Everything is put together correctly. I believe the main problem is going to be at the flapper on the a/c box.
