Re: 4l60 wiring help!!!

You need to wire it up to a transmission controller (TCU).

Re: 4l60 wiring help!!!

So it's a 700R4? If so it should only have 4 wires on the plug...

Re: 4l60 wiring help!!!

4L60 is the same as a 700R4, just a different name. 1993 was the first year of the 4L60E. Do you have a picture of the connector?

Re: 4l60 wiring help!!!

Read post #3 on here:

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tr...ap-wiring.html

maybe that'll clarify as long as your old connectors has the pin numbers on it.

Re: 4l60 wiring help!!!

A 700R4 is also known as a 4L60. From 82-92 it had a 4 pin square Weatherpack connector. In 93 it got an additional pin (I forget why) so it went to a 5-pin round connector. The pins are the same. So you need a shell and you will be in business.

...and u can install a 2-prong pressure switch in the 4th gear test port(on outside of case, plugged with a 1/8 npt plug from factory), and let 4th gear automatically control the lockup. Leave your on-off sw. in place so u can override the auto-lockup function at the times when u find yourself needing od without lockup.
You'll love this auto-lockup along with your manual override .
