New Headers and Exhaust

Finally got my new headers on my truck with all new exhaust. Got the hedman elite series 1 3/4 ceramic coated headers with flowmaster super 44 mufflers and added an '"X" pipe. Wow what a difference in sound and the tone is awesome. Only pics i have right now are of the headers it was getting late when i got back home.

Re: New Headers and Exhaust

Looks Good BadPurple......nothing like having new exhaust and the sound that you love. Can you snap a pic of how far that header hangs below frame at flange? I'm thinking about new headers. Thanks....Jim

I bet that is a good feeling, looks good on top. But i got a question and do mean to highjack the thread but what is the purpose of the x pipe tieing the two exhaust together. Horsepower? sound?

What is the header part number and how much did they set you back?
Also..do you have to use the shortie spark plugs?

Part number 500-69088 from jegs. $376.48.... They are made for angle plug heads so no i did not have to use shorter plugs. Well made headers and made in U.S.A.

X pipe evens out both sides equal and has to do with scavenging. Sound is also different along with the fact some people say your horsepower may increase ever so slightly.

Re: New Headers and Exhaust

Are you pipes running out of the back or somewhere short of that? Would you say you are getting a "deeper" tone with the x-pipe? Some call it a "throaty" sound.
