Interesting that you replaced the header with cinder blocks. Not seen that done before.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Nice detail... Your airbrush artist even put the underside of a creeper, leaned against the blocks in that custom painted tailgate. That takes some thoughtful planning and skill to pull off.

5 shipments? This is likely the only time I'll ever say this again, but I can't wait for Monday... I want to see more updates!

I'm in Nashville and I have a 71 GMC fleet side that currently is a long bed but I will be converting it to a short bed soon, it will be in your price range. PM me if you are interested, I don't want to high jack Chad's build tread.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

more ..

I posted the one with the bumper on it first. sorry about that. That's pretty much where it is right now. The taillights and rear harness is back in, brackets, bumper, etc. All back on. Dad is going to finish up the tag bracket tomorrow and we'll do the light, tag .. all set.

The tailgate trunions and bolts just needed to be cleaned up so we couldn't get the gate back on it today but it's getting close.

I have a dinner to go to tomorrow night but I will be working hard on it Tues, Wed nights after work and all day Thursday. I'm trying really hard to make the HRPT but if for some reason I don't I will be at the Choo Choo classic show at the Chattanooga Auto Auction on Saturday.

I am also planning to go to Corky Coker's get together on Thursday night.. look for my truck

Yep.. It's almost ready for the maiden voyage. I cant wait to drive it.

Oh, -- 2" blocks are in it now, and 3/8 spacers from Billet Specialties. I think she's sittin nicely now. The axle housing is close to the bedwood but I have it setup where the bumpstops will catch it before it hits the bedfloor (.. hopefully )

There is a slight downhill tilt to dad's driveway so the truck is sitting a little nose down. It doesn't have this much rake to it sitting on a flat surface.

More to come soon.
