Ward Truck Sales- Bainbridge Georgia

I was picking up a load of Sulfer in Bainbridge today and drove by the lot. Had to stop in when I saw a few cabs in view.

A stock truck is nice but this cab-over screems Mad Max.

Nothing on this old girl to talk about but it shouldn't go unmentioned.

This 65 guy however was interesting. Fifthwheel plate but no compressor on the governed 409 engine. But has some kind of brake control on the steering colum, dual hydraulic master cylinder. Foam Seat and this strange setup on the passenger side inner fender, a hose leads down to the valve cover. 52amp delcotron altenator. Robert the mechanic at the yard warned me that he had a jackass on the property and that's why it's gated. lol. The owner of the yard likes old cars and trucks and has a few in his collection, but wasn't there today. The Tach dash was of interest to help[ out someone on this site. Everyone seems to help each other out. I had hoped to get it and pass it on. The 409 would be a nice feature under someone's hood.

Thanks for posting, the yellow tractor looks like it has a lot of potential. Looks like a time capsule under the hood. I believe it has the optional heavy duty Leece Neevile alternator. I am assuming its an 80 series truck?

Re: Ward Truck Sales- Bainbridge Georgia

Alternator is not a Leece Neville. It is a Delco that was referred to as a squirrel cage due to the ventilation holes in the housing. They were popular in a lot of big trucks in the 60's and 70's.
