Because New Process Gear was wholly owned by Chrysler Corp. during this era, the NP205s were painted a Mopar red color. It is a dark red, but I have no idea of the paint code or how you would get it now.

if you cant find the original color you should just paint the same color as your engine tranny it would look good

Talking

My son used some dark red paint and added black to get the color to match the original paint on the NP205.

I used red oxide rustolum and a paint brush. Its not a perfect match but its close. The Chrysler red is correct.

Would that be the same color for a 1971 NP205? I thought I read somewhere that they were also painted blue?

The 205s were all that red color. The color in the picture above looks pretty close. That brochure picture is an artists illustration, not an actual photograph of a production truck chassis.

NP205

In that picture, I don't think that t-case is a np205. I think it is a dana transfercase.

4HI all the way back by the seat. Bump one small notch forward for 2HI. Next notch forward is neutral. Big throw forward by the dash for 4LO.

MMGOODIE, You can get a decal for your glovebox with the Xfer case shift pattern from the venders. LMC Truck has it.

Now that I look again, you are right. That picture is of a Blazer Chassis with the Dana 20 t-case. The shifter set-up is a dead giveaway.
