Bought my first C10 today. New Member as well

Hey guys,

Im new here and would like to introduce myself. Name is Ray im 26 and from Tennesse. Clarksville that is. I have a 2002 SS Camaro as well. see SIG for info and Vid. Im in the military and currently stationed here in Germany for another 14 days ( HELL YES ) and yes im pretty damn excited to be back home. (Ft. Campbell) Im a Blackhawk crew chief and ill be stationed permanently at campbell. Looking forward to meeting some good folks and hanging out. I plan on being a active member here as well. Take care yall.

As some of you know I was looking at this C10. Well my dad went out there and looked at it for me. He was super impressed with it. test drove it and everything. Only thing wrong is the blinkers dont work. needs a new radiator cap. tail gate and fuel gauge doesnt work. Some light rest in the inner fender wells up front. Floor pans have been replaced. new tires. shifts great.

Re: Bought my first C10 today. New Member as well

Thank you for serving our country. I remember being "short" in 1985, coming home from Furth (outside of Nuremberg) and again, in 1988, coming home from Camp Casey, South Korea.

25 years later, to this day, every time I hear this song:

I get a little choked up. It was my "short" song. All I could think about was coming home to my wife and kids. I missed the first year of my youngest son, he was three months old when I left for Korea. Oddly enough, 25 years later, he's getting married this weekend.

That truck is very sharp! From someone who has had many, many cars and trucks over the years, I wouldn't trade my '72 for anything. It is without a doubt, the most comfortable "get in, crank the window down, the tunes up, and just drive" vehicle I've ever owned. Hope that truck works out for you!

Welcome home!

Congrats on the purchase. I was a Black Hawk CE for many years and I'm now the Pacific Northwest IVHMS rep. Let me know if you ever need anything...like a job on the outside. I also know the IVHMS rep. at Campbell very well and he's a good guy.

Thanks! When were you a Black Hawk CE if you dont mind me asking? How many flight Hrs did you rack up? IVHUMS rep huh, wow Great job you have there. Last year while I was in Afghanistan all of our IVHUMS needed updates. We just had 3 choppers and two of them were on 1st and 2nd up. (Medevac) Well I was under the bird removing that damn antenna in the damn rocks, we didnt have any concrete and this huge ass Camel spider crawled right on my chest and freaked me the F out.. No fun at all. Anyway the little old man drove up in his gator and did his updates. about 30 min later just told me to let him know when the acft came off duty. Nice guy. You might know him, I was attached with 101 at the time. But as far as Medevac I loved every second of what I did. Really rewarding even tho it wasnt all that great seeing everybodys bad days. But as far as getting a job as a IVHUMS Rep. Wow that would be nice. I appreciate the offer.

Welcome home!
My Dad was stationed here in the 80's and well and said it was a fun place to be in. Nothing like it is today he said. I cant wait to leave this place. Im stationed in Landstuhl, im not sure if you know were that is at , but its like 7 min from Ramstein AFB. I Know what ya feel like. Im ready to be home with my fiance, Ive been over here for 3 yrs. (going home every 6 months lol) But its time to be home at Campbell. Idk how the big army is going to be but none the less Im ready for it.

Funny thing is that my Dad drove it home and my Mom hates older vehicles. Like she cant stand my 02 Camaro, she calls it the Monster. She said just on the 2 hr drive home she said it grew on her already. It really suprised me. she said she wants to drive it. My dad has a 74 camaro and said he never got more thumbs up in his car since he had it then he got in the C10 yesterday. its already part of the family in a short two hr drive. My dad did say that I hope you have a tough ass because its going to hurt. I told him I work for uncle sam, my ass is used to it lmao.

and btw thanks, I hope this thing works out for me too!

Thanks, I love the color too. I might paint it one day a different color. Maybe Sunset orange metallic to match my camaro or some dark olive green.

Welcome to the board from Nashville! Thanks for everything you do and have a safe trip home. Oh, and you have a beautiful truck. My old heap was a shade of gold at one point. If it hadn't been completely eat up with rust, I'd like to think she'd still be that color today. Look forward to possibly seeing you around.
