Floor patch help

Getting ready to attempt this soon maybe do you guys overlap the patch or butt weld them in? Mainly asking about. Lets say drivers side front patch. Thanks

i just did one side on my stepside project and spliced them in at the front cab suport and across the front to rear reinforcment with a butt weld then lap welded the rear part where the seat mounting aera raises up

Ideally you would want to but weld them to keep it all looking clean and avoid areas where dirt and water can be trapped.

That being said, I lap welded all of my repairs simply because it was easier, and this truck is a weekend sunny weather cruiser, not a daily driver.

This will be stored driven every now and again I'm thinking lap going just cause the easiness cause who ever I have weld will problem be in my drive and possibly not an expert
