Lights go dim ,charging problem ?
My 67 is completely rebuilt frame up and I can drive it now. Everything works great , but sometimes I notice that my lights will all of a sudden get dimmer , and they stay like that. whats up ?I have a new battery and almost all new wireing.any suggestions as to what to look for would be appreciatted. Thanks

I would check all grounds and measure the voltage output at the battery with the engine running. Voltage should be between 13.5 and 14.5. If not then the alternator, (regulator?) should be checked.

does it only happen when you are stopped at stop light (in gear) or does it happen when you are driving around (moving), and also do you have a big stereo?

Check your altn. belt and make sure it's tight.

It happens when I am driving. I do not have any stereo in it yet. I will check the other things suggested. thanks

check the ground straps at the tail lights and on the frame thats prolly where the problem is if the problem is only with the taillights
