No fire. please help asap
One of my clips for my coil is snapped off, so you can't tell which way it goes on. I guessed wrong. Got one Hell of a backfire, almost deafened me in the garage.
I already replaced the coil. Put a screwdriver in #1 plugwire and had the wife crank it. No fire. What did I screw up? I need the truck to drive to work in the morning.

maybe a fuse or relay, check the wiring diagram. check in the distributor for any burnt wires. check to see if the coil is even getting power...

Both wires to the coil are still geting power. When I put the tester where the coil wire goes (the one that goes to the center of the dizzy, there is no fire when you crank it.
Its an 87 w TBI/350. Thanks for the quick reply. What next? I am not good with electrical stuff so please bear with me.

check the button in the cap maybe replace that and the cap

fMy Father said the ignition module. Does this make sense to anyone before I run out and buy a cap, rotor and ignition module?

I had two modules go out on me before getting the MSD, I am not saying that is your problem, just something to think about.

Replaced cap, rotor, and control module on the side of the dizzy. Also replaced the fusable link on the fire wall. All fuses are good. I can't find any burned wires.
I would still get fire if I was 180 deg out of time right?

Yes, you would still get fire. It would just run horrible, if it ran at all.

Replaced the pick-up coil in the distributor today. Still no luck.
