Paint the grille?

On my big ol' GMC Longhorn restoration the grille is out being rechromed. It seems like most people do not repaint the details on the grill, but I'd like to.

Does anyone have a good detail photo of a correctly painted GMC grill (1970 in my case)? I'm not talking about the FULLY painted grilles, I mean the argent silver or whatever details they used on the chromed grilles. Or were they stainless?

I wouldn't actually paint the detail based on a photo, but am more curious to see what a correct one looks like (in case it's a Super Disco look or something that causes people not to do it).

Re: Paint the grille?

I'm not aware of any paint on a 70 grille. The grille, upper bar and headlight doors were all chrome plated.
