70 & 72 Bed Question

I have a '72 LWB C20 and I want to replace the bed since it is rusted bad. I found a '70 LWB C10 bed. Are the '70 and the '72 beds the same size? If so, would this just be a bolt in swap, no mods necessary?

Yes you can swap them, the beds did not change in our trucks 67-72.

Re: 70 & 72 Bed Question

My 72 K20 now has a 70 bed on it - you can link to my build thread in my signature below to see before/after paint pics. These are the same unless the 70 had belt line trim, in which case there are more mounting holes in the sheet metal (a plus IMO as the new aftermarket adhesive clips to affix the trim 71-72 style aren't any good).

Re: 70 & 72 Bed Question

Front clip on chevy is different 67-68 meaning fenders and hood. Gmc fenders will not work for your chevy. They stay the same style as the 68 chevy fenders doors are the same except. 72 has a little screw under the vent window inside
