Front Sway bar options on my 67 C10
I have other things I need to spend money on atm. So looking for a cheap upgrade sway bar install.
Going to spend the weekend junkyard hopping, looking for a front sway bar that will work on my truck. It's stock height. Will be looking for 73-87 Chevy 2WD trucks for the bars and accessories. My buddy wants to give me the front sway bar off his 1988 Firebird. He thinks it will bolt up just fine. Has anyone used this on their truck or has an opinion on compatibility? Thanks in advance.

Re: Front Sway bar options on my 67 C10
camaro front bar won't work, but the 80's/90's rear bar can be adapted to our trucks with trailing arms rear suspension.
the 73-87 is the generation to look at for front sway bars. 1-1/8 is pretty standard by the 80s (our trucks only got a 1" and that was an option). you might get lucky and find a 1 ton or camper special with the coveted 1-1/4" bar that is as thick as any aftermarket unit and will look like it came that way from the factory. completely bolt in job. all necessary brackets are essentially the same between 67-72 and 73-87. the bushings are the only thing that change (bigger hole to fit a bigger bar). |
