That dog is a goofball. We had another before her that weighed around 125 lbs. This one is around 60 lbs and all spastic. Lots of fun though!

I get everything put a way and a clean shop motivates me to drag it all out again

Any other shots of your exhaust cut-outs in the x-member? You said you re-used the cut-out for reinforcement but I couldn't see where you put it?? I'm also anxious to hear what the alignment shop has to say as we've got pretty much the identical setup up front. I'll have to take a closer look at the spring pockets though. I didn't notice any rubby-dubby when I put mine back together.

You're really making me want to paint my truck!!!
Thanks for looking! Working in a small garage does have it's challenges. I'll need to look at my cross member to remember what I did. I believe I reinforced the holes/slits on the sides. Alignment coming within the next couple of weeks. I'll be sure to post up the results.

Rex,

Just read your whole build. That's some good work!
Coincidentally, we both almost chose the same exterior color. Haha.

Re: my "71 C10 project

I haven't been good about updating this thread...because I've been busy DRIVING MY TRUCK! Ahhhhh, it feels so good. Here is a pic from a little show n shine in Gresham. They gave me a trophy for showing up! Cool! I still need to properly align all the panels, finish the cut/buff and the interior. I threw it together so I could drive it through the rest of the summer. Plan to blow it apart again this winter to finish up a few things. I will put together more pics and a detailed post later. Thank you all for the support through out this project!

Re: my "71 C10 project

Thanks for the compliments guys. It's been a team effort for sure. Thought I should post my alignment results. After the LCA mod here is what I got. Camber -.01/-.0.7, Caster 7.0/6.8, toe 0.19/0.18, sai 7.7/7.6, included angle 7.5/6.9. Thrust angle is -0.03. I have around 500 miles on it since the alignment and it drives great. No noticeable tire wear. I still need to add a front sway bar. That's on the winter project list along with lots of other projects. That's the fun part...these projects are never really done are they.

Re: my "71 C10 project

My son and I have been busy on his 77 K10 project. Four inch lift, fresh brakes, bearings, bushings, patch panels, chopped fender wells, headers/exhaust, performer intake topped off with a 600 Holley. This should be a great runner. I've almost got this one ready to leave the garage and then it's back to work on mine. I have a 2400 stall converter, adjustable vacuum can, an Eaton posi and a few other goodies to get done before any cruzes come up. Gotta get busy!
