Need help Id'ing a part
Hey All,
Well after rebuilding the PSCV, it turns out the rebuilt valve is still faulty. I took it off today since a new one is being delivered today and I found that I smashed the mounting threads with the pinch bolt. The pinch bolt was much harder to install and the valve was much harder to get off. I'll post some pics shortly as they are still on my camera. So the threaded rod that mounts the PSCV and the assist ram further down is the centerlink, yes? If not what is that part? I have two options I guess; 1. take off the part and have a shop chase the threads a bit with a large die, or find a replacement. Does anyone know where to find a replacement? 1967 c10 |

Re: Need help Id'ing a part
Power steering control valve. This is ram assist power steering, kind of a hydraulic valve and cylinder attached to the center link. Like on some 4wd trucks.
Personally I would change it to integral power steering. But if you want to keep the old ram assist I can check with another guy who just removed his ram assist in favor of the newer style PS. Oh to answer your Q: Yes the rod that connects the tie rods on each end and is threaded into the pscv is the "center link". Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device
