Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Hey Kustombrad! I've been following your build (silently)for over a year now, and I think the truck turned out GREAT! If I may ask....it looks like you put a new rear leaf spring kit in your truck at some point but I didn't read any where who's kit you used. Is it a TCI? I was also wondering what the length of those springs are from eye to eye. I am thinking about buying a TCI unit for my 46 but my springs are 54" long and TCI's are listed at 48". I just wanted to make sure I am ordering the right kit. Thanks Stan Z.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Yo Paint! Yes, they are TCI drop springs (I still put the axle on top AND used 3" blocks) to get the look I wanted. It's too cold to climb on the floor right now and measure it! I'll check when its not so cold.

I now need to cut the extra off the eye bolts and screw in the fuel tank ground for the gauge.

I am using the same TCI leaf spring kit. Im having a hard time with the shock cross member and im looking at your pictures. Did you bolt yours where the spare tire bracket was? I removed mine and there is two rivet holes, but not sure about it.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Just read through 22 pages of your build. Great read! You have so many clever ideas and patient, well thought out execution that it's kinda spooky!

Love the truck, if my daughter saw it she would beg me to build her one like it (as if I could).

Great work, and enjoy that thing!
