Re: c20 builds

Welcome to the site! I also have a c20 and wish I knew about
this site before I did anything on my rig!!! Lots of ways to go
and lots of help here! I am not sure of the drop of my truck
but I too have a 4.56 rear and the tires I had when I first
dropped it were 235/85/16s and rubbed bad on the rear inner
wheel well! Now I have 235/75/16s but still tach out too much
on the highway! I've got a 292-th400

Re: c20 builds

Posted via Mobile DeviceI got 235/75/16 all around, I then thinking of 235/85 in the back or what I can find on c/l I heard the dodge steel wheel fit there 20". Flappers drive my wife crazy, lol I had to counter weight them. It sounded like those wind up teeth that hop around.

Re: c20 builds

I started off with a very rough '64 C-20. After the suspension swap, it's essentially a half ton now.

Re: c20 builds

I cut my front springs and put TJ coils in the rear. lowered rear 5" and the front 3-4. sits nice but the springs are a little soft I will say. cost me 25 bucks and some sawzall blades ( I wasn't about the burn down the apartment complex with a torch) I had overload half leaves I had to remove. The panhard bar is almost horizontal, not sure if that is good but I think it moved the axle slightly to the right.

Re: c20 builds

no not yet, friend gave me 3 inch lowering blocks for rear, but after asking on here decided to save for drop springs, because of scrub line. will probably cut 1.5 springs out of front

Go on the hunt for a donor 88-91 3/4 ton burb, one could use the whole front crossmember, etc and get disc brakes for low cost.....use the booster and the power steering pump, gearbox, etc......they have 8 hole wheels......check it out........I had a 88 for the engine and other parts for 500.00, then sold it for $300.00
