Front shocks for my 78 2wd blazer

Please don't yell at me for asking because I did a search and it comes back fatal error! Can I run stock shocks on my lowered 78 blazer. I believe it is a 2 1/2 spindle and 2 inch coil. I'm not quite sure if I'm going to keep it long but it bounces like crazy! Thanks for your help and patience

Not with 4.5" drop, they'll be bottoming out constantly.

Bruiser, I bet he would be fine with just a 2" coil drop. The spindle does not change the geometry in terms of the shock mount or travel. Personally, I would try it and have the expectation that it would be fine. It might bottom every now and then, but I would not be scared to give it a shot. I think the problem is that if you call your local, knowledgable, shop, they will show a +/-2" in suspension will call for the same (stock) length of shock. I have found that you can sometimes look at Pro Comp's website and they will give mounting styles as well as extended and compressed lengths of shocks they make. If you can find that chart, it is very helpful. Maybe you can find a shock with the same mounting style and is 2" shorter than stock and then this discussion is over. Heck, worse case scenario is to measure your shock while mounted and truck on the ground - see if that changes your results from a search standpoint. Hope these options help!

Don't think of your 2wd blazer as a blazer,... think of it as a truck.
Same suspension components will work.

Buy some good quality shocks and you will be fine,... especially if you plan on selling it.
But drop shocks might give you a little more room from bottoming out.

I've got the Bell Tech Nitro Drop 2 shocks all the way around on mine w/2" drop front and rear. It hits the bump stops sometimes but never bottoms out the shocks. They aren't expensive and work well.
