any pics of fixing this body/door line?

has anyone ever "fixed" this body line right here? i'm talking about the top of the door line being about 2" higher than the top of the bedsides. if you have seen this done, i'd love to see some pics of the finished product. I already have an idea of how to do it.

Well ive searched and searched and havent seen anyone do this, so im gonna tacke it. Im also swatching to a single piece of glass and ditching the triangle piece. Ill post pics when i get to it. I should get there in about a month and a half.

One thing I've thought about when I see this topic, is the Mexican market beds. They look about the same height as the doors at a glance. Obviously no hard top.

There are trucks on here that have done it in several ways,

1) As an add on to the bed top that screws into the empty top holes, at least one truck did this with upholstered top rails.

2) Cut the doors down, the one I saw like this brought the door down to bed top level then sealed the top of the door eliminating the door glass making it a permanent roadster.

3) Use a cut down Gaylord's fiberglass pickup tonneau cover which sits at around door height.

I personally have considered milling a billet aluminum cap that bolts onto the rail in place of the top, maybe incorporating a cargo track rail into it, probably tapering off just before the tailgate end.

I've seen one other method not mentioned above. That is to take the top of the door section and replicated it all the way down the bedsides to raise it up to match all the way down. AVS did it with their modified Blazer - http://www.avs1971blazer.com/

Okay, heres my plan: buy a new full door skin, bend the top of the skin to match the height of the bedsides, weld it on. Then cut down the inner door side and reweld, while still leaving the gap for the window. Then ill cut the part off my junky factory top that seals to the top of the door by the lock, and slice it onto a top thats in better condition than mine. This way i can still seal up the cab decently well.
