Needing New Tire Suggestions for 69 with BB 396

Hey Guys,

My son and I are finishing up with out 69 Stepside with a 396BB in it. We just added a 700R4 and power front disc brakes. Then next thing I want to do is to put some new tires on this truck before we start going State to State with our Truck and new Overdrive transmission.

Where I am needing your help is for some tire suggestions. We have the Rally Wheels on the truck, and we are wanting to get the best tires that would look the best on our 69 C10. I have always liked the Radial TA's, but I am wide open to suggestions. Please suggest anything that you can as we are planning on getting some new tires this weekend.

Thank You for your help and Suggestions,
Kirk

Radial TA's are what I have...

They look good on these trucks ...

I just bought some Michelins for my car from Costco. I noticed they have some Michelin truck tires that would look and ride great. I've always liked Michelin tires. Very good quality, long lasting tires if your budget can justify it

BFG Radial T/A is the way to go! Great traction. Long lasting. Plus look right on these trucks.

If you haven't lowered the truck my suggestion is 15 x 8 rallys with 255/70R15BFG Radial T/A's or Cooper Cobras on all four corners. That size tire fills in the wheel wells nicely and puts lots of of rubber on the road for when you are touring. I'm a traditionalist and think blackwalls are better than raised white letters on our trucks, but that is a personal choice.

I have never had good luck with wear on Cooper Cobras. Even with good rotation and air pressure they always wore funny. I would get some Michelin LTX/MS. They look good and they wear very well.

WHAT HE SAID - proven combo, looks great. Filling the wheelwell is key, it's possible to completely screw up wheel tire choice and end up with roller skates.

I like the T/A's.I just got a quote for 4 255-70/15 T/A's for $500 and some change.I'm running them on my Panel and my DD.The ones on the DD have about 40K and are getting thin but not to the wear bars yet.

Re: Needing New Tire Suggestions for 69 with BB 396

I have Hankooks...not bad seem to wear pretty good I had 15x8 rally's all the way around 275 60 15 rear and 255 50 15 on the front at stock height and a 3/4 drop. I recently upgraded wheels to a Coys 15x8 and 15x10 with the same tire combo( just swapped the tires to the new rims. I have three years on the tires but it only gets driven in the summer months
