What is more comfortable ?
What is more comfortable on a long road trip ? The 1967 stock bench seat or bucket seats like this one ? I am thinking about changing to this style of bucket seats but am concerned about comfort. Will be sitting in this seat for 10 hours a couple times a year. If you have "super comfy" seats please chime in. Thanks

Re: What is more comfortable ?
Dang, I'd buy them because they look good.
Seriously I don't know. I've owned five 67-72 trucks. My Blazer had buckets and console but I don't' remember taking on it on any long trips. My other trucks (+Suburans) had bench seats and I drove them everywhere.

Re: What is more comfortable ?
I am more of a fan of the bench seat.
Benches are just more versatile... They are comfortable, they allow you to lay across them when you are parked and needing to stretch out - either with your feet up out the window or the door open, they allow a 3rd person to squeeze in for a short trip, your dog is more comfortable on them - allowing them to lay down next to you as you drive, then best of all they allow your significant other to get close to you on those long drives Buckets are cool though, but I personally find the bench better.

Re: What is more comfortable ?
I liked my bench seat in my 68 K20. Ive gotten use to the more modern vehicles with a center console. I love the center console with cup holders and a big box to put all your stuff in ............

Re: What is more comfortable ?
Well I will say right up front that I am a fan of the stock bench look in the older Trucks and Suburban . But I will say that the 69 Suburban I picked up a few months ago has a full 3 row setup out of I think a 1999 Chevy with buckets in front, split bench middle & 3rd row bench and at 68 years old my body has to go with the buckets in the front.
I like your buckets much better than mine, very nice. |

Re: What is more comfortable ?
Actually those are not mine. Just a picture of what kind of seats I have been thinking about buying. I have heard they are not comfortable as they have no back adjustment to recline.

Re: What is more comfortable ?
My bench seat is like a sofa. I've taken many long trips... And I like to stretch out.... And we use the middle of the bench for pets, kids, wife, snacks, etc. but overall.... It's like sitting at home on my sofa. Love the looks of the buckets, but dig the versatility of the bench.

Re: What is more comfortable ?
I have buddy buckets in my '67 and I am going to either change the foam to a more comfortable shape, or get a more comfortable seat - my back gets sore after just a couple of hours. They look nice, but are too straight up and no lower back or side support. It's 1967 technology.
