Steering box leak
I believe I am leaking at the joint just above the steering box, although it is kind of hard to see in the pictures. Do I need a new seal in that joint, or can I tighten down the bolts at the joint? How hard is the joint change? Also, what power steering fluid is the correct stuff?

I just went through this same thing I put new seals 3 months ago this morning found me a little puddle under my truck :-( I've heard good and bad about seals long run its up to you

I had the same problem and changed my seal and joint about 6 months ago and haven't had any issues since. It's not that bad of a job once you figure out how everything comes off. Also make sure you get the right rag joint for your truck. On my 71 the shaft was a bit wider than the hole on the 69-72 joint the parts guy sold me, which wound up splitting when I tightened it down.

Who carries the joint/seals? In Canada can you get them at Lordco? Or, which carrier in the states? Mine leaks horribly. I was thinking I would have to change the whole box.

I originally thought the same thing about mine, so I figured it was worth the $10 for the seals to see if that would fix it. I don't know about Canada, but I was able to get them at Advance Auto Parts down here.

I rebuilt my entire box and replaced all the seals for about $45, tedious work but saved about $300 rebuilding instead of buying new, if your going to go through pulling everything loose and taking it out to work on it just replace all the seals and bands that come in the kit. Mine hasn't leaked since.

I just replaced my whole box with a reman because I read and heard horror stories about rebuilding pumps.

If your halfway mechanically inclined, which I think most of us are, its not that bad, I rebuilt mine by watching a you tube video of how to do it!
