Re: what is an outrigger

That would be an attachment like a hook on a fork lift. Or legs that allows more support. A tow truck outrigger is its hook.
If its that Classic Parts thing, I think that is the floor brace.

here is one on a fire truck. It's used to help stabilize the truck.

Re: what is an outrigger

Isn't a piece that extends off a ladder frame to support the floor or a body mount called an outrigger?

Re: what is an outrigger

That looks like an extra frame piece to make it stronger.

I doubt you would need it.

Re: what is an outrigger

I'm thinking that is the piece that runs front to back above the frame, between the front cab mount and the rear cab mount. I don't know why it would be called an 'outrigger' though.

I called classic parts of America and they said the same thing you did. Does anyone have a picture of this piece on the truck?

Re: what is an outrigger

Goes from the front of the cowl to rear cab support?

Welds to this similar piece in front?

Re: what is an outrigger

I've seen those also and wondered what they were. I thought it was part of the inner rocker for some reason.
