1971 C-10 Cheyenne Track Width

Hello everybody

I just joined this forum today and I've been browsing already to some other chevy sites in order to find out what the original track width (front/rear axle) is for my 1971 Cheyenne Shortbed. ..?

Any help would greatly be appreciated..
Many thanks & have a great day

Re: 1971 C-10 Cheyenne Track Width

Wow.. i was on many forums for weeks without getting any feedback at all.. your document is very helpful and sorted out already a few other questions that i was looking at..

But i couldn't find the track width (measurement mid-tire to mid-tire) on this one.. or did I oversee something
Anyways,... thanks a lot for this one!

Cheers

Re: 1971 C-10 Cheyenne Track Width

WELCOME!!! You probably don't want to use mid tire to mid tire as a reference. There were many options for tires/wheels for these trucks and some will have different offsets. This will throw off calculations on what you are looking to do.For instance a 6 in wheel with 3 in offset will be different track width than an 7 in wheel with 3 in offset. The better figure would be backing drum face to drum face.

This may seem like a silly reply,... but can't you just measure your own truck for these dimensions?

Re: 1971 C-10 Cheyenne Track Width

that's what i did.. and I got the following measures:

66" front axle
64.5" rear axle

however, the rear end looks like it was replaced not so long ago and I want to verify whether my truck has still the original track width, as this will be required in my country to get a "verified oldtimer license plate"
