another power brake booster question

ok so i looked at the original thread and read the link about the booster and it says on mikes site that it connects to the manifold. mine connects to the back of the carb. is that normal? does it affect performance and the way the carb acts? would i be better off hooking it up to the manifold for vaccum?

it depends on the motor. My v6 and the v8 connected to the back of the carb my I 6 connects to the manifold. Its the same exact booster tho for all the years (73-87) and the only difference is the length of the hose even the check valve thingy is the same
If anyone needs one i have one see my PArts parts parts post on the 73-87 parts board

I don't think it matters really because the vacuum below the throttle plate (at the very base of the carb) is basically the same as it would be at the port on the manifold.

so i would i get the same amount of vaccum at the manifold then? cause thats a bit of an annoyance when i yank the carb to try spacers and if i wanna change jets( i could do it on the truck but im afraid ill drop something down in the manifold)
