Chassie paint.
I'm rebuilding my front end, ball joints, bearings ect.
I've cleaned up the 40 years of grime and hit them with oven cleaner and a water rinse, if course they have flash rust now. what should i paint the parts with? por-15 or some type of paint? what should i do a final degrease or prep with? Thanks!

Re: Chassie paint.
Well, powder coating is probably out of the question as i need to get this truck on the road soon. But i'd like to do it, there is a powder coating place about 15 minutes away from my house.
If i did have them do it would i have to remove all the studs from the knuckles ect?

Re: Chassie paint.
Find some "Chassis Black" paint. It's usually a satin finish, so grease and oil don't show up as much.

Re: Chassie paint.
I used Eastwood chassis black. You can buy it in gloss or satin. You can buy it from Eastwood and also I am very happy with product...

Re: Chassie paint.
Eastwood makes good stuff... but if you need it sooner than a few days... Dupli-color is what I picked up from the local parts store.

Re: Chassie paint.
I use Dupli-Color engine paint in Low-Gloss Black. Same sheen as Eastwood's chassis black that they don't make, just market at 30% higher than the same stuff sold elsewhere. Engine enamel is tough stuff, too. For instance,I just painted some wheels I sandblasted with rallye wheel paint. Rather than pay $12.99 from Eastwood I got the paint from Corvette Central for $8.99. I figure if it's good enough for Vette guys it's good enough for me
