Msd-6 ?

MSD 6 ignition boxes, are they worth the money on a stock V8 motor? How many of you guys are running them? Are they prone to failure? Thanks!

Re: Msd-6 ?

I buy them all the time at swap meets when i see them, $20-50 if dor nonither reason than they replace the troublesome module in hei dists. I have never had one fail and even the crusty used ones i bought still worked. They seem to make the engine start easier and keeps the plugs cleaner. Maybe a mile per gallon better mileage.

Thanks for the reply! I guess if it makes the truck easier to start, it might be worth it. I never know if my truck is going to start or not! lol.

Re: Msd-6 ?

It wont fix fouled plugs low cranking compression or other engine issues but it gives spark for a longer duration.

Re: Msd-6 ?

I put one in my CJ with a 304 and it made a difference in starting, accelerating is better and probably burns fuel better. It also had HEI before.
