Looking For Info On This Seat Cover

I found these pics in an Ebay ad for a 1969 C/10 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-...ectorid=229466. I don't think it's an original seat cover but I could be wrong. I really dig the pattern on the material and would like to find this cover in black for my truck but I don't know where to start looking. Was hoping someone on here would recognize the cover or the material and could lead me in the right direction.

Thanks

Here are the pics:

Re: Looking For Info On This Seat Cover

That cover design does look interesting.

A side note that guy out of Kentucky has a few of these trucks on eBay at any given time. Sometime more than three or four. Bending the meaning of barn find and charging a premium for patina. Silly IMHO.

Another guy out of Texas doing the same thing. Pickens up for couple grand and flip em for 20. I have a hard time justifying when you could get an excellent corvette for the same utility and price. Again IMHO.

Cheers!

Re: Looking For Info On This Seat Cover

Yeah I hear ya. I've seen some nice patina trucks around this forum but this one didn't do it for me. Now the seat on the other hand, has that vintage 70s vibe. My truck has a nice bench seat that was recovered in cloth by the previous owner. It's in great shape and I can't for the life of me figure out how he kept it so clean but it just doesn't suit the look I'm going for. I wish they reproduced the stock standard vinyl seat cover but all I seem to find is the cst seat cover. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone can tell me where this one came from.

Doesn't look to be stock. Have you considered doing something in leather? You might be able to get a similar distressed look.

Have you seen the vinyl seat covers Brothers offers? I bought their basic vinyl seat cover, and love it. They also have a more expensive one that I saw in person in their showroom last month, that has the walrus grain and the tooling like the '69 door panels

Re: Looking For Info On This Seat Cover

Yep I saw you seat thread. What a difference! It looks really nice. The things I like about this seat cover are the little square "concho" looking things and the faux "basket weave" pattern with theribs in between. If I can't find this material I'll probably go with the CST style with the western tooling. I did however get a few sample swatches from SMS Auto Fabrics and the 1970 C10 black cloth that they sent was really cool. I don't think I've seen a cover with that material before.

Hey geezer#99. I must be missing something. None of their 3 styles looks like the one I posted. Maybe I was looking in the wrong area of the site.

I live in Lexington, so that guy being here perked my ears up. Somethign screwy about his ads, though. California plates on one car, Texas plates on the subject truck. Neither one of them look like the photos were taken around here. Wierd deal.

Re: Looking For Info On This Seat Cover

Yeah I'm always leary when I see those sort of buy 'em cheap, spruce 'em and sell 'em ads. Fortunately I've already got a truck I just want to find a seat cover like the one in the eBay truck. It's pretty worn on the drivers side so it's probably fairly old and likely out of production. Just thought I'd see if anyone recognized the pattern.
