Re: Emergency Vehicles!!!

Now that you mention it, I think my friend's bread van was a Boyertown.

They were pretty big. Grumman made UPS trucks back into the '50s. The mail trucks built on S10 frames were also...Grumman Olsen

Re: Emergency Vehicles!!!

Grumman had a plant in town.
Dad was a Kenosha auto transport broker.
They would hook two truck's together and ship them all over the country.
When I was 14 He had a deal to add leaf springs too a hundred or so trucks.

Had a big time bombing up and down K st. With bare chassis sitting on wood box...

Finally got around to getting a VIN pic of my 64 Fire truck van. Not sure how this VIN works if it was made here.

Re: Emergency Vehicles!!!

Check out this beauty I stumbled across last night. It has all the goodies! 4x4, Holmes twin line towing bed, Detroit diesel with an Allison. Not sure what I would do with this but I wish it was mine! As of this minute it is for sale in Florida. My birthday is coming up.... hint....hint. If anybody feels obligated to send me a gift this truck would do

Fitting that this show takes place right by a fire station (just happens to be the department I'm on)

There is some of your departments equipment in the background.

And the Fire Department building.

Old man bought it and drove it home and never touched it sad sitting is never good. Good thing is truck was never touched, still has hoses, twin booster reels, hard suction, strainer, perfect hose bed wood, helmets inside, map guides, registration, all lights there, Q, and of course LADDERS. Hope to have it on the road in two months, fighting to find parts for that 503 motor.

Re: Emergency Vehicles!!!

Keep us posted on it.

It looks like you've got a great truck there.

The 503 will be a little hard to find parts for, but they are around.

Inliners may be able to help:

Here's the Fire Rescue Panel that I recently purchased. I've got it in the 47 -59 section as well. It's a 56 1 ton Panel. Trying to find parts for it now.

Re: Emergency Vehicles!!!

Here's a picture of my 1969 GMC, it's a work in progress body wise but the truck and pump work great. I'm betting if the pump was tested it would pass with no problems. I was trying to find pictures of what it looked like when it was in service since it's missing its running boards and storage compartment. I couldn't find an actual picture of my truck in service at the LaPorte, TX plant, but I found several trucks that are identical. I also found a few others I'll post.
