need help with stepside fender marker lights

I am putting my stepside bed back together. I am putting new marker light "cups" in (the part that the light socket sits it, and I am trying to find out if the hole for the wire should be in the back or the front. I would think the back, but maybe someone could take a pic of their for me? Here's mine so you understand what the #$#% I am talking about.

My current fender has the 68 reflector "cup" or "pocket". I'm going to switch those out for ones from a later model with the hole. One is rusty anyway and needs to be replaced. So I just want to know if the hole for the wire should come out towards the rear of the truck.

Thanks!

Re: need help with stepside fender marker lights

According to the Assembly Manual the hole comes out toward the front so the wire goes toward the rear and down the wire loom. Scan of the page is attached. Sorry about the quallity but after resizing the picture to be able to post it, I lost a lot of clarity.
