reverse light switch location on sm465
does anyone have any pics of where the reverse light switch is on the sm465? It would be greatly appreciated

The switch is on top of the transmission. (2) prong plug. Sorry, no way to send a photo. There will be a (2) lead harness with a sheathed plug somewhere in the harness near the firewall which should plug right in. It's pretty easy as the plug fits nowhere else.

Driver's side toward the front near the top. Two wire plug with boot going in.
Never use a pipe plug in place of a backup light switch or you won't be able to go into reverse. I learned this the hard way. |

Thanks everyone for the replies, I will look in the morning. The reason I ask is my reverse lights don't even have a wire running to the rear so I am trying to get them hooked up. I will try to get a picture too if I find it in the morning.

you need to remove the hump inside cab to get access to reverse switch

Bringing back this thread since I am presently troubleshooting my reverse lights. I believe my reverse switch on my SM465 trans is bad/intermittent.
Does anyone have a part number for the replacement switch? I see that LMC carries them, but I'm sure it is available at a lower cost through a regular auto parts place. |
