Help with door rebuild

I am trying to put the components back in my doors on a 70 C10. What is the best sequence? Vent window first? Door window first? Weather stripping first?

Thanks for any help,
Robert

Re: Help with door rebuild

Just did my 72 last weekend.

1. Leave rear window run that goes down in door out.
2. Put window run fuzzy in track
3. Install window regulator in door by sliding roller into track in door then install four bolts holding regulator to door.
4. Install crank and lift reg all the way out till rollers protrude above window opening.
5. Install glass track onto rollers
6. Crank window all the way down and push as far to rear as you can ( this is where leaving the rear guide out comes in.)
7. Install vent window from outside truck. You will have to twist and turn it to get it in.
8. Install bolts/ screws holding vent window
9. Roll window up and install rear guide with two bolts down low and one in jamb area
10. Install inner and outer fuzzier/ weatherstrip

The only issue I had was when I went to roll the window down, it was so tight that it pulled the glass out of the track due to the 43 yo adhesive holding it in giving up.

Wideside pretty much nailed it. I would only add don't tighten up everything (except the regulator) as you go, just before snug, once all is installed work the window a few times so it can find it's center and push the channels into place, then snug every thing up, see if window is still free, then tighten.

One other thing to add to Wideside's explanation. When installing the window onto the rollers, have the window on the outside of the door, like he said about the vent window.
