differences in disc brake spindles between 1968 and 1972

Hello everyone! Just wanted to ask if anyone had a similar situation.
I have a 71' Chevy SWB fleetside I bought as a "Basket case" anyways after stripping and cleaning, powder coating everything, I am assembling my front steering components.well, almost.
I found one of the spindles has a larger tie rod taper
Compared to the other.it almost looks as if I have a mis-matched set of spindles, or two different years.the first thing that should
Have clued me in on this was the different splash shield.

I'm wondering if I got a '71 1/2 ton truck spindle on one side and a later model truck on the other.I'll post some pics later to show what's up here. Thanks!

here are a couple of pictures of the spindles I am using, the foil like material on the spindle pins is actually aluminum furnace tape, I used that to mask the machined areas of my spindles when I powder coated them with everything else. these aren't the best, but at least they are pictures......I'll post better ones tomorrow.

A 68 C20 had drum brakes. You probably have a 73-up spindle. Take it to a parts store and verify by finding a tie rod end that fits.
