That's how the Tru Trac is set up. It looks worse in this pic but from above isnt so bad.

There are two different LS Tru-Tracs.
A "top mount" and a "side mount".

Looking good! I had been thinking of giving up on my shortbox and throwing all it's parts at my blazer. I had pretty much decided against it but this thread is not helping

I'm curious where the issue was. I've converted a 4wd w/ arms before- it was tight, but it worked. Was it that you would not be able to lay frame due to arm/frame interference?

The trailing arms contact the frame not allowing it to fully lay out. Leaves it about 3 inches short.

Correct. The 4WD frames run straight back at a width of 34". The 2WD frame bows out over the rear differential allowing more room and clearance for the trailing arms.
