Haeder info 350 Goin Back In
Here's what I have. 1971 with a 350 and 700R4 going back in.
As you can see I managed to pull the engine and trans with the headers still welded to the exhaust and someone had cut the collector flanges off and the pipes are 2 1//2 all the way back to the Flow Masters. These headers are getting old and losing their coating. Of course I can cut these off blast'em then recoat I really don't know what they are. I know there are two plug boots that lay directly on a tube. It would seem to me during the last few years a header company would make a set that produced good power as well as excess to park plugs. Great deal of talk about Headman 69090's & 69092 as well as Hooker 24552. Appreciate any info that would help with the choice. I've read that Capt Fab has installed a bunch of Headman. Dan |

One of the guys on the board, tkorinek, sold me some new headers. They look good and fit well. I put the plug wires beneath them and so far so good. One or two of the boots are close but with the 90º boots no one rubs.

Hopefully he'll come on and let us know what they are. Looks like they come out just about 1/2 inch further than mine before they make the turn down.
The coating sure looks nice. Dan |

My Doug Thorly Try Y's bought in 95-96 require stubby plugs and i had to add Fiberglass boot covers so unless thy redesigned them its probably not on you would want to consider.

Re: Haeder info 350 Goin Back In
if you are looking for a long tube style go with the headman, the ball and socket style flange is awesome, no more leaking flange gaskets, and i use the stock Chevy manifold gaskets that seal better than the header style gaskets

Re: Header info 350 Goin Back In
Headers are private brand, & made overseas, for the price $200 + shipping for ceramic coated headers they are hard to beat, I sell them & have 1 set available for shipping right now.
They come with the collectors. Sometimes they include the hardware Gaskets are included. They are made to specifically fit 64-72 2wd Chevy trucks Longhorn70 thanks for all the extra info! Thanks, Tom

Re: Haeder info 350 Goin Back In
another note on the tkorinek headers: Both sides went in from the top on my truck with little effort. I used the ARP 5/16" head 3/8x1" stainless header bolts. I only have 500 miles or so on them but they look good and don't leak.
