Cleaning the Cab Molding
My truck should be out of paint soon and I am trying to figure out how to clean my cab molding up. (The piece below the rear window). I have tried mothers aluminum polish and it still looks as dull as before after scrubbing on it for 15 minutes. The guy at the paintshop suggest that I use a super fine steel wool. Has anyone made theirs shine again?

Re: Cleaning the Cab Molding
I am pretty sure the middle is supposed to look brushed, then the outer stripes are more polished. You will probably have to strip the anodizing off and sand it smooth to make the whole thing shine (like a tailgate band).

Re: Cleaning the Cab Molding
Mine looks like a clear coat that has sat in the sun to long. Very dull.

Re: Cleaning the Cab Molding
Somewhere on this forum is thread where someone polished either their cab band or their tailgate insert to an amazing level. Maybe someone else knows where it is, or who did it.
EDIT: Found it. Polishing trim

Re: Cleaning the Cab Molding
Polished trim on the cab and tailgate looks great... But my buddies hate following me at night. Gives off a blinding reflection of headlights.

Re: Cleaning the Cab Molding
Steps I've taken...
120 grit flapper wheel in drill, 320g hand sanded, 600g hand sanded, 800g wet sand, 1500g wet sanded, 2000g wet sanded and then polished out with some Mothers polish.

Re: Cleaning the Cab Molding
The only black my trim had on it was inside the Chevy emblem.
