Does anyone know the company that sells the conversion from the stock headlights to the headlights that are blue at night?I know they sell them at alot of car shows but b/c of the winter season no luck on finding them in the car shows.. They have a blue reflection to them when they arent on and they are bright blue when they are on. I need them for my 68 gmc..HELP!!

Are you looking for BLUE headlights or the HID-look lights? (Have a bluish look to them)

I don't know about BLUE headlights - maybe some spraypaint?

As for the HID-look without spending the money to actually get the system - there are a bunch of headlight manufacturers out there that make this type of bulb. I see Sylvania has come out with a new HID-look bulb called "Silverstar". Don't know if they're any good though.

Maybe someone can give more info if they've tried 'em or something similar.

I bought some for my old truck on Ebay. Just be sure to read feedback, there are a lot of crappy bulbs out there.

Beware the blue bulbs! I once bought some expensive HyperWhite (blue) bulbs for another vehicle I own. Big mistake! The lights looked great in town but once on the highway, I could barely find my way home. By blocking the entire color spectrum except blue, visibility was drastically reduced. I removed them when I got home (one hour drive) & took them back for a refund (he offered it, I took it

). Never again.

I've heard some good things about Sylvania Silverstars, though, and something like Farenheit Xenons which are supposed to be quite good - not blue, but a very bright white light output.

Blue bulbs are mostly junk. They don't even begin to approach the light spectrum/intensity of the HID bulbs. Mostly ricers pick them up as a "fashion accessory".

I'd be more inclinded to get the bulb housings that replace the sealed beams. They usually go for $40 a pair, and allow you to use the better 9003/H4 bulbs.

I converted my sealed beams to the H4's. I bought used Hella's and installed them in my truck. I wired 2 relays, 1 for high and one for low, and used the power from the headlight switch and high beam switch to trip the relays, and had full power with heavier gauge wire running directly from the battery to the headlights (through the relays). These are very brief instructions, and I can write better ones if you have interest. If you think you may want to do this I can take pics, and get the numbers off of the relays. If anyone is interested send me a PM and I can post pics, instructions, and part numbers on the board.

I bought the cool blue's from auttozone. I think they were 20 bucks a piece but there bright as heck!!!

I sell the h4 conversions for a set it is $55.00 plus s/h i dont have any bulbs right now but will be getting them in or you can go to any parts store and get the h4s. I put them in my truck and I love them getting ready to put the 5" ones in my 64 cutlass

soon (hopefully by the end of next week) I will be selling the housings that use the H4 bulbs.
They will be 50.00 (for both housings and the bulbs) and we are checking into the blue bulbs.

To Darren and Shawn: what brand housings and bulbs will you be selling? I have used E-code H4 lamps in various vehicles since the early 1970s and for those not familiar with them, they are incredible. Wide flat low beams with razor sharp horizontal cutoff that flares up on the right to illuminate road signs etc and high beams that are dazzling - and that's with 55/60 watt bulbs. Check (or ignore) your local laws & regs....

i have the cool blue halogens and they shine about twice as far as the regular halogens. i would say that low beam with the cool blue shines brighter and further than high bean with regular halogens. high beam with those bulbs is like having daylight. i believe they are made by sylvania been a long time since i got em though

the ones I will be getting are DOT approved for all 50 states as well are the blue H4 bulbs - that was one thing we made of for sure when we ordered them. and the sample they sent does have all the DOT markings on everything.

I would tell you what brand but I'm not at the shop right now)

I would like the cool blue bulbs but I need the headlamp housing to put the bulb in..What should i do.. Buy the H4's? then swap the bulb?.. Im confused how this works b/c my 68 has the stock headlights in and I cant take out the bulbs.. I just need the two outside headlights and im taking out the 2 inside lights for my ram air system..some explain how I can get a housing for the cool blue bulbs!

this is a housing that accepts the h-4 bulb it is like a plug and play deal. you put the housing in and in the back it has a round opening. this is where the bulb snaps into and then plug in your harness for your lite and you are god to go.

i have the silver stars in my s-10 and they are VERY bright,people flash me all time thinkin me brights are on,and its alot easier to see stuff with super white light,the yellowish lights suck compared to these

those are the ones brighter than halogen dont waste your time the government is going to outlaw them cause therye too bright for oncoming traffic it was n the news the other day. i agree therye dangerous very blinding

If you are talking about the H4 conversions they are still the round 7" bulbs. They virtually bolt into place. It is the 7" headlight with the replaceable H4 bulb.

I bought some of the Sylvania Silverstars for the wife's Contour. Before, you couldn't see jack in front of you, but now it is pretty good. nice white light instear of the yellow crap.
If ppl are flashing there brights, then you need to adjust your lamps down a bit. Even with bright bulbs, if they are aimed proprly, then they would not blind ppl.

Alright folks. I've got a question about my truck. My dodge that is. Um, I guess I have the same type of lights on my Dodge that i had on my '67. Well, size anyway. Really crappy lighting. I'm confused about it. I want really bright lights, so how would I go about doing this? Buying the H4's? Does this require any new wiring, and it replaces the old complete bulb setup, and replaces it with something found in a newer type car? Thanks guys.

im guessing it would be the same. why wouldnt it be? its not specifically designed for a certain type of car. its a universal kit.....
