2013 East Coast Indoor Nationals - MD
Being a lifelong Motorama, Autorama and World of Wheels spectator and participant I decided to check out this show just north of Baltimore last Sunday.
The forecast that day was for 1-2 inches of snow,(which ended up being 5-6 inches) which for a Bostonian with Michigan plates is a flurry or a dusting. Headed out with a friend from work and what should have been a 10 minute drive from our location turned into an hour. I should have taken some pics of the carnage leading up to the show. Cars turned over, new pickups and SUVs in head on crashes, people doing spinouts on off ramps, people with their flashers on doing 5mph on the highway. (That was for the first 2 inches) I stuck to the snow covered left lane in 4wd in the Tahoe and showed them all how you drive in the snow. We arrived at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, snow covered of course, we knew it was in the Cow Palace but there were no signs, people directing traffic, nuttin....Found the right building finally, no parking fee-(thats a first), admission $12. Besides the owners of the vehicles and the Vendors we were the only people there. Private show for us...My friend Bob is a 57 Chevy guy from Flint, Michigan so he gravitated towards those, I have to check out the pickups, of which there were three.....here they are.. This red short bed was driven from Delaware. He has an original Applecrate Schwinn Stingray in the bed, so nice lettering on the doors, matte clear coat. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2067.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2068.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2070.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2074.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2076.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2078.jpg This teal scalloped longbed had a guy from CT, The One Armed Bandit doing Pinstriping. Nice work... http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2105.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2101.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2099.jpg This Blue Air Force Step-Side sat alone with no one around to give me a history on it. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2115.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2116.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2121.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2125.jpg http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...s/IMG_2118.jpg |

Nice trucks. I bet it was fun driving there. Never been a fan of the big white walls though. Nice just the same.
I was offered a spot in the Greenville auto show a couple of years ago but it was for my dragster golf cart. I spent the whole weekend at the front door with it.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |
