Anyone running a lock right locker?

Searched and didn't find much. Considering trying one. How are the handling characteristics? Is it similar to a spool and only ratchets in parking lots or sharp turns? I don't mind the noise, I probably won't hear it over the exhaust anyways. Do they handle power fine? I have like 400-425. Going into a 4.11 12 bolt. Do you run posi fluid or regular 90 weight?

I have a TRACTECH brand in my 67 12 bolt. Got it free from my nephew. It's behind a tired 327. Put 80-90w straight gear lube in,works fine. I can hear it clicking around corners,but I have quiet exhaust. If you don't need a ring and pinion or rebuild it's the way to go!

I have them in my blazer. You can feel the rear end of the vehicle pull from side to side when it locks and unlocks, from going on and off the throttle. I would not recommend one with a manual trans, as it puts a lot more shock to it. A lot of shock to them when they are trying to lock up, is what rounds off the corners of the teeth. I killed one of them. If it is strictly a street rig, I would use an Eaton posi. For off road, a Detroit is king.
Just use regular 80/90 lube.

I had a Lock Right in a Jeep Wrangler, and was really happy with it. That Jeep took me places I never thought it could. A little clicking noise when turning sharp was nothing compared to the cacophony of noises the greasy bits of that Jeep made. I doubt any noise would be heard at all in a full-size pick-up.

I've got one in my 69 Camaro and really like it. If you keep the air pressure in your rear tires equal, you'll rarely hear or feel the ratcheting.

I'll be putting one in my 72 soon.

X2.. these units good for up to 500HP I read. Easy to install.

This is worse with a short wheelbase. The Wrangler has about the shortest wheelbase this side if a bicycle, and the squiggles from the Lock Right were very slight. Probably no effect at all on a long wheelbase pick-up.

But then, everything in that beater Jeep was loosey-goosey, so the squiggles could have been masked somewhat by the nature of a trail beater.
Definately not a good highway cruiser!

Cool. I'll try it here soon. I don't mind the noise and all. Its a 'muscle truck' type truck. So that doesn't bother me. And its auto
