brake line adaptation '72 - '75
I am putting '75 3/4 ton running gear under my '72 with which I am putting 8" lift springs under. With that said, I need longer brake lines and I am wondering how I go about doing this.
Do I need an adapter of some sort or what lines should I get? I went to the local 4x4 shop and they said that the ones for 73-7? something should work just fine but I am not about to take them outta the package just yet after spending $100 on 'em? So before I use these suckers, does anyone know what will work? It would be nice to stop. Thanks guys!

I don't have an answer, but I'm in a similar position. Is your truck 2wd or 4 wd? Mine is 4X4. I bought an inline tube kit and it is no where near right.

if your talkin about the rubber lines that go to the wheels they should work just fine im almost positive the steel lines on either truck are the same size

It's a 4x4, that's why I'm gettin longer lines, to compensate for the lift.
I got mine from 4 Wheel Parts. I didn't look at them real close but I believe the lines said they were from Earl's. Yes, the lines that go from the hard line on the frame to the calipers.

I have a 2wd, but FWIW I did use 73-80 front brake lines on my 68 when I swapped to discs. I used the lines from the master cyl all the way to the splice under the pass side of the cab where I cut it to the proper length & re-dbl. flared it.
I mounted the prop-valve in the stock location for the 73-up truck, not where my 68's was mounted originally & used the 73-up flex lines for the calipers & just mounted them in the correct 73-up location (the holes were already in the frame).

i think earl's can make custom rubber or braided brake lines if you send them the lengths

I would never trust my brakes to Earl's products. Simply stated, the stuff is crap.
I would use XRP, Goodridge, or Aeroquip. Any of these companies can build you a custom length hose. They probably even have pre-made ones that will work great. Plus you'll have some good, braided hose that will look good and perform even better.
