New here

Hi, I am new here and trying to figure out my way around this blog so here goes. I bought a 52 1/2 ton gmc chopped hotrod and am in need of some parts. Wondering if anyone has all the guts for the wipers, I want to put a electric conversion on it but all the arms and linkage are gone

Re: New here

Hello Vince and welcome.

Just a heads up that a moderator is likely going to chime in soon and tell you not to post a "Want to Buy" post.

I'd suggest you keep your eye on Craigslist for someone parting out an Advance Design truck. I don't know how familiar you are with these trucks but that's what the era of '47.2 through '55.1 are known as. I'm a Task Force era guy ('55.2 through '59) so I can't tell you which of the years in your truck would be a direct replacement but someone will chime in soon and tell you.

Again welcome and please post a photo of your truck, it's traditional here when you introduce yourself.

Re: New here

Thanks so much, I will try to post some pictures as soon as I figure out how to. This is the second father son project, we started out with a 49 Studebaker 3/4 ton barn find but what we really wanted was a mild hot rod and the stude was just too nice and original to make into a rod. We were able to find someone who wanted exactly the opposite and worked out a trade deal for our now 52 gmc and we are off and running on the build.

Re: New here

Easiest way to post photos (for me) is to upload them to a hosting site like Photobucket. Go there and join - it's free. After you do, press the Upload Photos button and it'll walk you through the process, but it isn't difficult at all.

Then once your photo of the truck is in there, open that photo and when you do you'll see a box off to the side that is labeled "IMG". Select all the code in that box, copy it and paste it into this website in the text block. When you post the response, the photo will show full size instead of the little version that will show if you just use the "Post Reply" button here.
