Re: 1959 Chevy Truck
Thanks, I am really happy with it. I really wanted to spray it but didn't want to run it through my base/clear gun so I bought a cheap HF gun and couldn't get it to work so I dumped it into a cup and started brushing. It was thinned a little bit so it ran like crazy and had to spend a lot of time chasing runs.
Thank you, it's been a lot of work in the evenings but it is fun and we really need a second vechicle so it will be nice to get it driving again sooner than later. Thanks Kim, all your comments are appreciated. I will be starting the brake lines next... I think I'm going to use the Copper nickle lines by NiCopp Tubing. Anybody ever use this? I think I will do 3/16" for everything front and back as it's four wheel disc brakes. Q: do I just need to plumb front directly to master and put in a simple porportion valve on rear lines? Do I need check valves or something.

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck
Where are you mounting the master cylinder?
Here's some good info: http://www.mpbrakes.com/valves-faq

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck
No check valves needed if your master cylinder is on the firewall.

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck
I would use a Disc/Disc combination valve.

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck
Just ordered all of my brake line, and parts.. Went with a proportioning valve because of its price and adjustability. I also ordered my trans mount, all of the wire and connectors to make my own harness, and to top it off a Dakota digital dash that I have been dreaming about since high school. Got a great price too! Couldn't be happier and feeling amped!! I'm thinking about taking some vacation to get this truck on the road.

Re: 1959 Chevy Truck
So I did take some time off to work on the truck. I will let the pictures do the talking. And more to come after I load these.
Pulled the trans out of this beast by myself at the salvage yard.
