The fuel pump went out on the truck yesterday. Was suppose to have new dual-exhaust installed instead had new fuel pump installed! Oh well Monday it will get the new dual-exhaust installed I hope if nothing happens between then and now.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Bummer, Andy.

I guess a good way to look at it is it seems you weren't 300 miles from "hearth and home" when it went.

Yea it was stubbling some that morning so I figured it was going out. Hawks and I talked about it being a little low on pressure for the new 6.0LSx motor install but figured it would last longer than 4 days. Oh well it couldn't of happen at a better spot inside the garage I guess. It had been loosing pressure as well when I shut it off so it's nice having full pressure and just one turn of the key and it hits!

Re: Rollback Thursday!

That sucks . Same thing happened in my 01 last week. I wish it had happened in my garage. The rollback dumped it in my driveway and I spent the better part of a day dropping the tank and changing it

Yea those kind of days do suck. Mine is in the bed under the fiberglass cover so it's not that bad unless it's 100 degree's out. Bruce said they had it swapped in 30 minutes. The LSx motor likes 58PSI and it putting out right at 70 PSI so I should be good to go for now.

Re: Rollback Thursday!

I kept hearing an occasional whine onway to a car show 90 miles away . Finally a thumping noise and had a weak brake pedal . I checked everything I could find . Brake fluid was low in master cylinder . I'm not a mechanic by a long shot . I couldn't figure where the fluid went . I couldn't find a leak . Finally I call my dad to come check it . He drives 90 miles one way . Shows over I pull across street to vacant lot . I look at front driver wheel and realize I lost a center tap . Then I found my problem . Bearing in wheel was toast . Truck only has 2500 miles since frame off . 300 dollar ride home

I was lucky. My 2000 dropped hints for me. The check valve was going so the truck was having a hard time starting. Changed mine at like 125K with a new GM pump.

Was this an old pump Andy? You're old motor needed an electric pump too, right?

Post #3 Jessy yes it was the old TPI pump. Bought in back in 2008.

69moneypit,
Back in September I had a deer jump out in front of me in the 71 had to slam on the brakes hard. I got stopped in time. The next morning got to work and I had ran over my senter cap in the parking lot front passenger side. I ordered a new one and the day after I installed it it was gone. So I decided to do a little more research and come to find out the caliper had locked up on it and the wheel was getting so hot it was melting the o-ring on the center cap and coming off. I bought a new caliper and problem solved.

Re: Rollback Thursday!

I hope the prob was only the bearing . My dad constantly tells me to put more miles on truck to get the kinks n bugs out . Not let sit in garage months at a time then pull out the day before a cruise , show etc .

Re: Rollback Thursday!

I wish I could but I drive 100 miles daily commuting to work ( sometimes farther working the extra board ). Plus with the turbo 350 and 373 just a bad interstate combo .

Cool Re: Rollback Thursday!

Yea I know that feeling. I have a nice 700 r4 for sale. Just took it out of my 71 when I did the Lsx motor trans cobo. Nothing wrong with it.

Do you work every day of the week? Never go anywhere after work or on the weekend? Take it to Lowes, dinner, for a weekend ride to get away for an hour... Unless something is broken, mine never sits for more than a week. Otherwise, why have it?

Re: Rollback Thursday!

I'm in vicksburg . Not far from yazoo . With my commute time and work I'm gone 15 hours daily usually six days a week. Also with projects around house time is kinda tight. I was off work hurt from a drunk driver for a couple weeks . I drove it pretty regular then . Planning on installing a 700r this summer and vintage air . It will see alot of I20 then!!!

Ever herd of Magraws rental in Jackson? They are family. I stopped by and saw them when I drove out to Arlington Tx last year for the Power Tour. Jerdons in Carter are kin also!
