Wire Harness Routing...
For those of you who are using an aftermarket harness for all the accessories I have a few questions:
1) which access points in the cab did you use for the "rear body" harness? I bought a harness that would have a fuel sending wire to the rear as well as provide power to my fuel pump. This bundle of wires is much bigger than stock and wanted to find the best routing. 2) for all the other holes, what did you plug them up with? Is there a rubber grommet assortment out there that would fill in a majority of them in case I wanted to use them later? I really don't want to fill them in just yet. Thanks |

Re: Wire Harness Routing...
Laying under the drivers side of the truck, follow th frame rail until the toe kick area starts to move upward. There is a hole right above the rail on the inboard side if you dropped a straight edge and a few inches off the rail that the rear harness passes through on mine.

Re: Wire Harness Routing...
I’m just finishing up installing a Ron Francis kit in my 60 short stepside. Previously I ran the rear harness down the driver side door jamb, covered up by the rocker sill and exiting at the rear corner of the cab, same as stock. Over time I found this to be miserable and tedious.
This time all the headlight, hood, and rear wires are going out a firewall hole to the driver’s side of the power brake booster. I’m running the rear wires straight down to the frame and along or inside the frame where it’s boxed. For me this is much easier to route and access later if there is ever a need.

Re: Wire Harness Routing...
Which hole in the fire wall did you run the "rear" harness down and where did you get the rubber grommets from? Too many wires with the updated harness to go down the door sill like the stock one did.... I put convoluted tubing around the harness so it wouldn't rub and cut into the wiring but would like to find a grommet to use with this. I ordered new factory ones for the engine and headlight harness's as the old ones fell apart during removal.
