Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Same grille Don. I haven't changed it out yet as the truck had been stuck in the snow for almost a week. I did find that after it sits in frozen abandonment, it delevoped a nice schrill when I turned on the blower. Previously I had tried to cheat the old squirell cage onto a fan. Well $11.00 later a new fan solved this problem.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Snow and ice are finally gone so I spent a little time on the truck. I soldiered up some orange LED lighting and gotit all installed today. I used a back lit strip behind the CHEVROLET script on the grille and then tucked a full length one shining down on the face of the script to illuminate the face. I also tucked one up under the passenger dash area, on the front of the seat frame shining forward and then one full strip across the top of the tank shining up to illuminate the inner backwall of the cab.

Dig the grille! Hard to tell about the lighting, but I take your word for it. It's a neat idea.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Thanks guys! Now I need to find a nice 63 grille to change it up at times
. Mounted my 40s Trico-steampunk mechanical vacum fan on the dash. Used the existing brackets to go through the speaker grille ( no dash was harmed on this mod). Bent up some coppr tube as the supply line and ran it through the defrost vent and out the side of the hose. Cool little gadget that has already had people guessingl lol .

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
The fan is a great collectable. I frequently have to play around with different mounting arrangements before I decide on a final configuration. Or if my new addition goes back in the collection and not on the truck. Love what you've done overall, the truck looks great.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Made the trek up to PDX today to see Double J Tire and have a few sets of whitewalls ground. Tossed a set on the white powdercoated stockers I got from LT1burb and they change the whole look of the truck. Here's a few shots, excuse the hood pop...was checkin the oil at a buddys pad.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Nice! Really dig it with the wide whites & white powder coated steelies. As you said, gives it a totally different appearance. I always love seeing the difference a set of wheels/tires can make.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Thanks guys. Its fun. To have a few sets around. The 2005 crew, wifes Tahoe , 50 burb and this truck all have the same 6 lug bolt pattern and all have custom wheels. I'm going to mix it up a bit this summer.
Mabey orange on one side and white o the other at a ashow and see who notices lol
